EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATION COURSE
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) covers the essential elements in an 8 hour course covering the POST mandated drivers training required for all peace officers. This training is required once every five years. The lecture portion of the class will cover emergency vehicle operations, liability issues, statistics, physiological & psychological effects, use of force, and intervention options. The behind the wheel portion will cover evasive driving, controlled braking, serpentine, skid control, backing, parking, and pursuit driving techniques. This course combines classroom and hands-on training.
Bruce Verdoes is a Captain with the Minnesota State Patrol. He is a certified instructor in Emergency Driving and Pursuit Driving. Bruce has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement and emergency and pursuit driving.
